- Choose a novel that is the appropriate difficulty and length for your reading level. Books must be cleared with Mr. Sweeney by Tuesday April 14th.
- Split the book into 9 relatively even sections. These must be shown to Mr. Sweeney by Tuesday April 14th.
- Write 3 comprehension questions and answers per section. The questions should increase in complexity in each section. For example, question 1 should be an identify questions, question 2 should be a synthesize or inference question, and question 3 should be an interpret or analyze question.
- Choose two vocabulary words per section. Give the definition and explain the importance of this word to the novel.
- You will have thirty minutes a day of class time.
- This portion of the assignment is due Monday May 4th. There will be a summative assignment given at a later date.
- All of your work should be written in pen on looseleaf and kept in your LA duo-tang.
- Grade 7 and 8 quality work is expected. This means organized and neat work, accurate writing conventions, and thoughtful work. Crumpled, messy work will not be accepted.
- You may use your reading for this assignment, both in class and out of class, for your April reading log.
